Practice Night – Thursday 7th May 2026

On a normal practice night we can often ring Plain Bob, Grandsire and perhaps St Simons. This week three of our ringers were absent and to make up our numbers we invited some from nearby St Neots. This helped us continue to develop these methods for our novice ringers and keep on track of our training schedule.

Our friends from St Neots, James and Charlotte Gamble, are experienced ringers and their presence was most beneficial. Tricia was able to ring the treble to a touch of Bob Doubles, Josh and Hazel rang plain courses of Grandsire, and Josh, working towards his level 4 certificate in the Learning the Ropes scheme called plain courses of Bob Doubles and rang St Simons inside.

We also rang call changes where all members of the band made calls in turn and our visiting expertise enabled us to ring two touches of Plain Bob Minor and a half course of Cambridge, the latter usualy only rung by visiting bands!

In addition, we have two new ringers and both were able to ring backstrokes to Rounds.

During the evening there were three conductors, plus the call-change team. oh! and we finished with a very smart ring down in peal.

Well done everyone, it was a super practice, thanks for your hard work and to James and Charlotte for helping us out on this occasion.
